November 29, 2018 Teacher Negotiations Update


The District and GRTA have reached a Tentative Agreement to conclude negotiations for the 2018-19 school year.  The District and GRTA held their second mediation with the assistance of a State Mediator on November 29, 2018, and executed an agreement which includes the following:

2018-19:        A 3.5% increase to the salary schedule, retroactive to July 1, 2018, (retroactive payment to be processed on or before February 28, 2019); and

                        A $100 increase to the District’s employer contribution for health benefits, effective October 1, 2018 (increase from $13,200 to $13,300); and

Increase longevity from $750 to $900.


Superintendent Bryan Ballenger stated: “I want to thank the State Mediator for assisting the District and GRTA in reaching an equitable agreement today.  Now we can move forward together to address our mutual concerns with increasing the academic performance of the students we serve.”
