CSEA Negotiations Update

December 10, 2018 CSEA Negotiations Update

The District and CSEA held their second meeting on December 10, 2018 to continue to bargain in good faith on reopener negotiations for the 2018-2019 school year.

The District made the following proposal for the 2018-2019 school year:

  • A 3.5 % increase to the salary schedule, effective July 1, 2018; and
  • A $100 increase to the District’s employer contribution for health benefits, effective October 1, 2018 (increase from $13,200 to $13,300); and
  • Increasing longevity pay at year 16 from 4% to 4.5%.

Unfortunately, CSEA rejected the District’s proposal.

When asked for comment, Superintendent Bryan Ballenger stated: “The District’s proposal recognizes the hard work and service of our valued classified employees by providing them with a compensation package equal to our teachers, which will be submitted for Board approval on December 12, 2018.”

The District and CSEA will reconvene negotiations, after returning from the holiday break, on January 24, 2019.
