2023-2024 Teacher Negotiations Update
DISTRICT AND GRTA REACH TENTATIVE AGREEMENT
The District and GRTA held their fourth and final negotiations meeting on Monday, February 26, 2024, for 2023-2024 successor contract negotiations. The District is pleased to announce the Parties reached a Tentative Agreement for a new three-year contract running through June 30, 2026, to conclude negotiations, which includes the following:
2023-2024
6.5% increase to the salary schedule retroactive to July 1, 2023, and
$500 increase to health benefits (going from $14,000 to $14,500 annually).
2024-2025
Increase the salary schedule by 80% of funded COLA, effective July 1, 2024.
The parties agreed to add one additional professional growth day for teachers in the 2024-2025 school year, which will greatly benefit the educational program for students and lead to better performance on state assessments for English/Language Arts and Math.
The District appreciates GRTA’s efforts in reaching an agreement during this round of negotiations and looks forward to continuing the positive relationship established between both teams.
The Tentative Agreement will be submitted to GRTA unit members for ratification before being presented to the Board of Trustees for approval on March 13, 2024.
