GUSTINE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

August 5, 2019 CSEA Negotiations Update

Joint announcement of mutual agreement in 2019-2020 negotiations

The Gustine Unified School District and CSEA are pleased to announce they have reached a tentative agreement on August 2, 2019 in our labor negotiations for the school year 2019-2020. The parties, in just the second meeting, inked a mutually agreeable settlement to be effective July 1, 2019.

• A 3.25 % increase to the salary schedule, effective July 1, 2019; which eliminates the current Step 1, and renumbers the current Steps 2-8 as 1-7, with a new Step 8 increase at 3%. In addition, effective January 1, 2020 ranges/steps currently below $13.00 per hour shall be increased to $13.00 per hour to comply with the state minimum wage law.
• The Parties agreed to maintain the status quo for employer contributions to health benefits.

We appreciate the effort and hard work of both teams to come to a tentative agreement so quickly. We’re all excited for the new school year and our continued work together.
