2022-2023 Teacher Negotiations Update

The District and GRTA held their fifth and final negotiations meeting on Thursday, November 17, 2022 for 2022-2023 contract reopeners.  The District is pleased to announce the Parties reached a Tentative Agreement to conclude negotiations which includes the following:

10% increase to the salary schedule retroactive to July 1, 2022; and

$600 increase to health benefits (going from $13,400 to $14,000, annually).

To address concerns with recent data from the County showing low student test scores for English/Language Arts and Math, placing the District at 19 out of 20 when compared to other school districts in the County, the Parties agreed to adding one professional development day to the work year for 2023-2024.  The additional day for the 2023-2024 school year will occur on either August 10 or 11, 2023.

Adding one additional professional growth day for teachers in the 2022-2023 school year will greatly benefit the educational program for students and lead to better performance on state assessments for English/Language Arts and Math.

The District appreciates GRTA’s efforts in reaching agreement during this round of negotiations and looks forward to continuing the positive relationship established between both teams.

The Tentative Agreement will be submitted to GRTA unit members for ratification before being presented to the Board of Trustees for approval.
